Paris is a beautiful town in the world, from designer clothing to antique furniture, books, and fine jewelry, Paris is known the world-over as a place where quality and elegance come first. A true shopper’s paradise, Paris offers the very best in fashion, design, gourmet shopping, and more. Paris is well known for its specialist boutiques and designer shops and many will be found in some of the most beautiful areas of Paris. Boutiques range from fashion, art, furniture, imported objects, cloth, antiques, etc. and make Paris itself an Aladdin’s cave for shopping. One of the new fashion boutique is Ekovaruhuset , an eco-fashion boutique that has just been opened in Paris. The designer collective has locations in Stockholm and New York, and offers choice cuts of organic, environmentally conscious and fairly traded clothing from designers like Johanna Hofring (founder of Ekovaruhuset and “self-elected godmother of the eco-nerds”, Meiling Chen, Xing Zhen Chung-Hilyard, Melissa Kirgan, Mika Machida and Kaori Yamazaki.
With the basic concept of “house of organic clothing”, Ekovaruhuset has served as both a monastery and a punk band’s rehearsal space. Now—courtesy of owner Johanna Hofring’s ecological-meets-fashion vision—it is a serene, whitewashed shop populated by turquoise mermaid statues and art installations along with Hofring’s intricate knits, romantic classics by Anya Hynenen and clean separates from Camilla Norrback. Basics come by way of baby soft organic cotton/silk Eco Boudoir undies, tees from DEM Collective and jeans from cult denim brands Kuyichi and Loomstate. The boutique interiors are designed in eco friendly looks with simple and homy.
