Small house is not always be a complicated in decorating, suitable for small family with a high sense of art and modernity in their life. This is a small, contemporary mews house in Regent’s Park, nested amidst Grade 1 and 2 listed buildings by Nash. Such as another modern home design, the house was equipped throughout with the latest intelligent home technology concealed within walls and fittings, consists on the ground floor of garage, guest bedroom, bathroom, entry hall and cloak room; with kitchen, dining and living space on the first floor and master bedroom, bath and steam room on a gallery above. The opportunity was very welcome to be involved in a building in such a unique position, no matter how small, and to be able to persuade the authorities involved –the Crown Estate and Westminster Council – that a modern contextual design could have its place, even within Regent’s Park. This was an exercise to see how a building could be designed on a very confined site within such a sensitive and historic part of town, yet have ample light, feel much larger than it in fact is and yet continue to create the sense of a private residence.
Lighting has an important role for modern home design, this house maximizing the lights by using large glass window and opened ceiling, so the lights can easily entering the rooms.
Modern home design should have a good coloring ideas, a contrast color combination such as black and white is a popular color choice, this house uses black color for flooring, stairs, kitchen cabinet and the furniture.
