Modern Home Design of Monroe House at London by Stephen Fletcher Architects
Share
Monroe house is one of Stephern Fletcher‘s project, it’s located in London. This project involved the upgrading and remodeling of a small apartment. Every effort was made to increase the space wherever possible. Dark-colored bamboo wall paper was hang on one wall running the full length of the entrance corridor and the hallway into the Living room. Some mirrors were added to reflect some daylight to this relatively dark area.
This is the new veneered opening with niches to either side for objects and background lighting. A set of sliding panels in matching veneer can subdivide the living room from the kitchen when required.
The kitchen is in matching wenge veneer with light-colored Iranian granite counter top. The fridge is hidden behind a panel on the side elevation. A recess provides a space for the microwave oven, cookery books, and Le Creuset pans. A wine rack makes use of the space below.
The front wall of the living room has been painted a subtle light green color with contrasts with the dark bamboo wallpaper and the wenge paneling in the kitchen. A panel of shimmering gold-colored disks hangs by the dining table.
The bathroom is lined with travertine tiles and a bespoke medicine cabinet with wenge frame and built in perimeter lighting provides ample storage.
