Artistic Nishimura Japanese Restaurant with Traditional Concept
Share
Everyone who visiting this restaurant will say that this is a beautiful Japanese restaurant. Decorated and designed with Natural Garden which is reflected in the local found materials we used: wood, slate, rocks, pebbles, sand, bamboo, water and dried tree branches. The traditional concept that artwork should be mounted on walls or floor has been challenged here, it has become the very fabric of the interior. Engineered plywood sheets have been handcrafted into three giant artworks: a giant wooden feature wall made of 1000 plywood sheets, with 2 punctured ovals, created by hand tooling the plywood sheets into shape; a large semi-sphere created by planes of plywood; a sushi counter with a “wave” form enclosure made of bent plywood.
Designed by CL3, this is the Nishimura restaurant, located in 2/F, Grand Wing, Shangri-La Hotel, Beijing, No. 29, Zizhuyuan Lu Tel:(86 10) 6841 2211 ext. 6719, Beijing, China. With foreigners, the West of Beijing is not well known for its restaurant scene. Beijing locals however – particularly the puissantly wealthy ones – cherish the West for its proximity to the Western Mountains, the bustling couleur locale and ample opportunity for excellent dining experiences. One of which is presented by a long time Beijing favorite, the thoroughly refurbished Nishimura restaurant that offers authentic Japanese cuisine in a modern, dynamic environment.
